I used to own a few EBMM guitars with the raw waxed necks and loved the feel, so I asked EBMM what they used and they told me that they used the B-C wax, so that was led to my adoption of it. Roasted necks I leave au natural.

The neck will be just as smooth (if not smoother) by just removing the gloss from the clear finish and will retain the protective finish on the neck. Some are buffed to perfection and are super slick. Other are not. Oiled. Nice and slick. I feel the finish is less moisture resistant. Satin. I have loved every satin finished neck I owned. 3 ibanez RGs, my sold strat plus deluxe, and my warmoth tele neck. They are all super smooth/ burnished feeling now. herocut
