But honestly, there's not so much room and it's almost easier to take the carbs off to get access. The middle two are a royal pain to get to with the oil pressure switch, etc. in your way. WebGet the battery disconnected and take a good look at the air box. There's not much holding it there. Take out the bolts and observe hose positions then disconnect. Start wiggling. Once you get it out disconnect the throttle cable (s). My bike runs a single cable into a linkage that operates all 4 carbs.

WebJul 31, 2012 · They normally are not in there very tight. Do this at your own risk but I have taken them out on different occasions. The jet is more than just the hole down the middle, it has small holes coming in from the sides that you can only clean when the jet is out. If you can get the jet out you can clean things 10x better. WebMar 31, 2024 · Then I checked the timing. THEN, I synchronized the carbs. I had the engine idling steady at 1200rpm. I rode the bike through the summer. Don't forget to add a inline fuel filter between the tank and the carbs, otherwise you'll be cleaning the carbs rather soon, like I did. Moral of the story, stay away from pods on these carbs.
